First Annual Community Appreciation Weekend!

First Annual Community Appreciation Weekend!

Community Appreciation Weekend Saturday and Sunday 11/01-11/02

Last year we got to celebrate our 5th Shopaversary, and this year as memories of when I was starting this business come back to me,

memories of all the people who helped me

memories of giving, kindness, and community (literally) built into the shop

memories of all the people who went out of their way to support us through our first year

through lock down

through the "masked years"

through the construction of our kitchen

and the botched contractor situation

and more memories of giving, kindness, and community being literally built into the shop

and everything since our Grand Reopening

and everything I can't mention (because there is so, so much to be grateful for)

and as all this has was coming back to me, I thought this year would be a good year to create a new celebration:

Community Appreciation Weekend

where we celebrate us, as in everyone who has created this community together: us here at the shop and all of you who take part by supporting us, by drinking our tea, coming to our events, telling your friends about us, etc.

We are building an amazing community together!

To celebrate this, we're putting out extra teas on the tea table for sampling, we're hiding little gifts (like a $5 Alchemy & Herbs gift card) around the shop, we made an Alchemy & Herbs trivia quiz with prizes for correct answers (yes, we totally took this idea from Water Street Bookstore!) and a fun word search you can take home and do while sipping tea, we made an unofficial "Shop Superlatives" and are giving $5 gift card with $5 donation bonus (like a double Jar Club card!) for the winners, and this weekend will be the start of our newest fun project: community weaving! I got this idea from the old Women's Herbal Conferences where everyone was invited to weave a little something into a tapestry. We have little standup weaving loom (thank you Erica!!), and we'll bring a few fabric scraps, but you are all welcome to bring a bit of fabric (cut or torn into strips), ribbon, wool, or other textile to weave into this community tapestry. We can even weave in bits of plants and other items from nature.

We are happy and grateful to share this weekend with you - I hope you can stop by!

Xo,
Lisa
